Dr. keiko miwa ross student farm at penn state campus supported agriculture program

Thank you for your interest in the Dr. Keiko Miwa Ross Student Farm Worm Compost workshop! Find information about our spring workshop below.

Do you have food scraps that you’d rather not throw away? Does your garbage fill up too quickly with fruit and vegetable clippings? Join us during our Earth Day activities for a worm workshop! Vermicomposting is an environmentally friendly way to discard of fruit and vegetable scraps and save garbage space.

The workshop will be on Friday, April 25 from 5:30-7pm, and will be held inside a high tunnel on the Ross Student Farm.

We have two bin sizes available: 3-gallon for $14 and 10-gallon for $29. The 3-gallon system is ideal for an individual college student, and the 10-gallon system is sized for a family.

The workshop registration will include a 2-bin system of the size ordered, composting worms, newspaper clippings, and starter compost that you’ll get to assemble yourself, in addition to educational content about how to care for your worms. We hope to see you there!
